Receptionist

Summary

If you are 18 years of age or older and are looking for work while you study, this is an ideal role for you! Reporting to the Service Officer, this position is a key role within the Service Team. This role includes being first point of contact for customers, action tasks in reception area, set up and pack up of equipment around our venues. The ideal candidate will have availabilities to work weeknights and must have availability to work Saturdays and/or Sundays.

Key responsibility tasks

Customer Service:

  • Prioritise the customer and ensure they are served in a safe and welcoming environment 
  • Handle conflict situations, but know when to refer
Customer Service & Operations:
  • Prioritise the customer and ensure they are served in a safe and welcoming environment 
  • Handle conflict situations, but know when to refer
  • Deal with enquiries and provide information for all programs, facilities and services provided at and by Warwick Stadium 
  • Handle signups for Gym Memberships
  • Sell tickets for all programs at the Stadium 
  • Handle casual court hire and room hire bookings and payments. 
  • Competent in operation of computer programs, POS and EFTPOS
  • Monitor and rotate stock to maximise financial return and minimise wastage 
  • Supervise Junior staff working with you 
  • Ensure that the Stadium is operating safely and liaise regularly with the duty Program Coordinator/s
  • Maintain security in the reception area, ensuring that only authorised people are in the area
  • Following opening and closing procedures for the Stadium 
Administration:
  • Undertake routine administration takes for the reception area 
  • Record the payment of forfeit fines 
  • Action basic Play HQ tasks

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

You must have:

  • Availability to work weeknights, must have availability to work Saturdays and Sundays
  • Experience working independently in a customer service role
  • Customer service skills to greet customers; identify and respond to customer needs; and address complaints
  • Organisational skills in stock control, time management, record keeping, cash handling 
  • Verbal communication and interpersonal skills to listen effectively; give instructions; provide feedback; handle conflict and liaise effectively with staff, suppliers and customers
  • Computer skills sufficient to the operation

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the full range of Warwick Stadium programs
  • Understanding of “Third Place” and how it weaves through all operations 
  • First Aid Certificate 
  • Passion for the sport and recreation industry
