Stadium Upgrade Project

Potential stadium expansion and Perth Wildcats relocation

In a significant milestone for our community, the state government has pledged that a re-elected Cook Labor Government will contribute $16 million towards refurbishing Warwick Stadium.

What are the benefits of upgrading our stadium?

800 more kids can play basketball at Warwick

Over 1500 spectators can attend our Warwick Senators NBL1 home games

More opportunities to host significant sporting events

New facilities: including three courts, education and allied health services, wellness areas, sports chaplaincy spaces, high-performance equipment, and a Senators’ club room

Upgrades to existing facilities: including changerooms, public toilets, community space, lifts, and stairs

Perth Wildcats relocating to Warwick Stadium

This project would also mean Warwick becomes the new home of the Perth Wildcats. We would provide state-of-the-art facilities for these elite athletes, while creating a genuine development pathway from the youngest recreational athletes through to championship-winning professionals.

The Perth Lynx are also said to be making the move (with board approval pending) in a change that will bring even more development pathways to our stadium home.

Wildcats owner Mark Arena has shared his enthusiasm for the move, saying, “We’re delighted to call Warwick Stadium our home and take what’s already a thriving basketball community to the next level…We think that Warwick Stadium is a fantastic location to begin the next chapter of our proud history.”
